Shobdon Village Hall

The Parish shares a hall with the primary school. During the day a smaller community room with kitchen and toilet facilities is available for Parishioners use. After 5pm the main school hall becomes available for larger events.

Parking during the day is in the lay by outside the school gates and after school hours the playground may also be used. The charge for parishioners for short time bookings is £3 per hour for the Community room and £6 per hour for the main hall both include the kitchen area with electric and heating fed by £1 slot meters.

Parties and all day bookings are £65. Hirers outside the Parish pay more. Although we have a premises licence we do not have an alcohol licence and as such are restricted to twelve Temporary Event Notices. (Bookings, which have a bar.) The Parish Council is the main Trustee and a management committee of representatives of clubs using the facilities runs the hail.

You can contact the Village Hall Committe on their email address shobdonvillagehall@googlemail.com

The Village Hall is also available to hirers from outside the Parish.  However, these charges are slightly higher, as they do not benefit from the subsidies afforded to parishioners.

Although we have a premises licence, we do not have an alcohol licence and as such are restricted to twelve Temporary Event Notices per year (i.e. bookings, which have a bar).

The 200+ Club Monthly Draw

200+ Club is a monthly draw that runs from April each year, raising much needed funds for the Village Hall.  The Village Hall Committee are dependant upon the profits from this and other fund-raising events for the upkeep of the fabric of the hall, and for reducing the hiring costs of the hall to villagers.

We would appreciate it if you would consider a 12 month subscription.  The draw currently costs £1 per month and to keep costs down, we ask you to pay for the twelve months in advance.  The monthly prizes are decided based upon the number of entrants in the draw and usually there is a Grand Christmas Draw.
