Theft from motor vehicle:
Persons unknown have driven an unknown motor vehicle to large business grounds located off the main A480. Offenders have then driven through part of a yard to where vehicle was parked namely a white Renault lorry. Offenders have then gone to the diesel tank on the lorry and siphoned approximately 60 litres of diesel.
Enquiries ongoing.
Theft of motor vehicle:
Persons unknown have approached the victim's property near Kington and stolen a vehicle namely silver coloured Hyundai 130 registration number: WR08 YTO. Nothing seen or heard by the victim. Enquiries ongoing.
Theft:
Theft from Weobley Primary School, Offenders have entered into the grounds of Weobley Primary school and proceeded to remove and steal approximately 15ft of lead flashing from under eight sky light windows on the pitched roof of the school.
Theft:
The location of the offence is a large orchard in Kinnersley. Persons unknown have cut the front gate to the orchard and entered. Offenders have driven to the farm site and have used a tractor fitted with a low loader to pick up a Harrow and load it on the trailer. The Harrow is a Mashio Power and is 3 metres wide and orange in colour.
Farmers Beware:
A full page advert has appeared in the farmers Weekly, week ending 29th April 2011, under Higgs Plant, with a phone number of 0844 544 6268 or 07821 832453. They are advertising farm machinery which appears very cheap. A local Herefordshire farmer has made enquiries with this so-called Company and was asked to deposit monies into a bank account and the tractor that he was interested in would be delivered to him. He did not follow these instructions and having made further enquiries discovered that this was a bogus company. There is a genuine company called Higgs, which is based in Tamworth, Staffs who do trade legitimately. Trading standards have been notified.
If anyone has come across Higgs Plant and fallen foul of their trading policies please contact Cso Dick Allford on 07968 462523.
Information passed from Dyfed Powys Police:
Please be aware there is a potential scam going around at the moment which is being sent by text to mobile phones - it reads-
"Our records indicate you may be entitled to £3,750 for the accident that you've had. To apply claim, phone 07548 021867
Trading standards advise you NOT to respond.
